Notice on Establishing a Representative Office in Indonesia
We are pleased to announce that Nippon Light Metal Co., Ltd., (headquartered in Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; president and CEO: Takashi Ishiyama) has established a Representative Office in Jakarta, Indonesia, in October 2011.
Our Group has been actively working to accelerate overseas business expansion, notably in China and Southeast Asia, setting it as one of the basic policies in our mid-term management plan launched in fiscal 2010. Specifically, we are focused on establishing new manufacturing sites and sales bases, as well as reinforcing existing ones, in China, Thailand, and Vietnam. With the largest population among the Southeast Asian countries, Indonesia is considered to be a promising market. Upon gathering information for business expansion in Indonesia, we have concluded it is indispensable to set up a new base in Southeast Asia.
The Indonesia Representative Office will investigate the potential for selling existing products of the NLM Group companies in Indonesia and the commercial viability of aluminum products for automobiles in the region's growing market, determine effective sales strategies and support activities to achieve synergy with other bases in the ASEAN region, and conduct other surveys.
